The Maverick Award

The community has shown interest in establishing an award comparable to the Duke of Edinburgh or the Queen’s Guides Award, primarily inspired by the highly active Facebook group and requests from Rebels for an equivalent award so that’s how it all started. However, it is crucial for prospective participants to confirm their commitment to completing the award prior to initiating the process. Eligible individuals must first register on the official website before commencing their Maverick award.

Spoonie Rebel

The second-largest Facebook group, as previously noted in my blog post, is dedicated to individuals with disabilities or neurodivergence. This group offers information regarding badge adaptations, opportunities to alleviate feelings of loneliness, and avenues for social connection. All of these resources and forms of support are available within the Spoonie Rebel group.

Rebellions

The Rebel Badge club is a big group it gets split up into local rebellions to facilitate in-person meetings within specific regions. I am a member of the North East Rebellion, as well as the North Yorkshire and Cumbria Rebellion. At the end of August, I plan to attend a summer camp with my rebellion I’m hoping to get some clauses ticked off there. There are established worldwide, with examples including the United States, Australia, and Scotland.

The Rebel Council

The Rebel Council is a decision-making body that allows members to provide input on badge designs, particularly for the monthly and quarterly badges, which require a subscription fee of £6 per month.

Rebel cup

The Rebel Cup functions similarly to house points used in schools, whereby participants earn points for their patrols. There are five patrols in total.:

• Rosa
• Bader
• Mercury
• Nelson
• Gretna

I am currently participating in the Rosa patrol, with Claire serving as the patrol leader. We conduct a monthly meeting via Zoom dedicated to crafting activities, as well as a monthly motivational session where members are encouraged to earn points through various endeavors. These endeavors include earning badges, completing bonus challenges, and participating in events held throughout the United Kingdom during the year. To date, our group has engaged in activities such as making jam, toffee apples, and a craft involving pomegranates. Additionally, we have created a good luck card, crafted a seahorse, and painted Russian nesting dolls.

Rebel Readers.

The Rebel Readers group is designed for enthusiastic readers and individuals seeking to improve their reading skills. This platform provides a valuable opportunity to enhance reading proficiency and support members in attaining their reading badges through participation in a book club. The Rebel Readers organize monthly meetings where members discuss selected books. Furthermore, this initiative has motivated me to join a local book club near my residence, where we meet monthly in a café to discuss various titles. I am scheduled to attend a meetup tomorrow.

Rebel Swaps group

The Rebel Swaps community is a structured organization in which members facilitate the exchange of items and access complimentary goods contributed by fellow participants. This initiative is designed to reduce waste and advance environmental sustainability. Commonly exchanged items include diamond art, puzzles, and crafting materials.

Rebel Pen Pals

Rebel Pen Pals is a smaller community of individuals who enjoy exchanging mail. If you are seeking a pen pal, you will be able to find one within this group. We organize postal games, traveling postcards, and RTC trading cards among other items, which members send to one another via direct messages on Facebook Messenger. To prevent accidental messages, contact is often restricted. Additionally, there is a ‘You Have Got Mail’ badge, which was previously awarded on a monthly basis.

Big Rebel Adventure

Big Rebel Adventure is a group of individuals seeking to undertake a physical challenge this year. Participants may choose to complete the challenge either virtually or in person. The challenge must be completed within the calendar year.

Rebels Class of 2026.

This was set up last year to help new Rebels get familiar with Rebel Badge Club, and it’s been really helpful for me. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in that group—someone else might be wondering the same thing but hesitating to ask. No question is too small or silly, so don’t be shy about reaching out.

The Pirate Rebellion.

For those who do not belong in a Rebellion.

This group is intended for individuals who do not participate in a Rebellion. It is specifically designed for those who are unable to attend meetups due to geographical distance, physical disabilities, or rural location.”
