Taking it easy
As I was not feeling particularly well, I decided to take a slower approach to the day and remain at the hotel to rest. We had originally planned to visit the Motor Museum; however, Mum, Daisy, and I were not especially keen to go. After breakfast, we returned to our room for some quiet time, allowing ourselves the opportunity to relax and recharge.
While we were resting, Mum and Daisy decided to visit a nearby Perfume Museum, while I chose to remain behind. In hindsight, this proved to be a sensible decision. They returned shortly afterwards, disappointed by the experience. According to their account, the venue had an unpleasant smell of smoke, and the member of staff present was unhelpful and distracted by a phone call throughout their visit. As a result, they left almost immediately. It seemed that I had not missed a particularly worthwhile excursion.
Lunch at Franks

Once Mum and Daisy returned, we went to Frank’s for lunch, a favourite restaurant we had first visited for Jack’s birthday. We had enjoyed the experience so much on that occasion that it quickly became one of our preferred places to return to during our stay.
I chose a Caprese salad and shared a portion of chips with Mum and Daisy, which made for a light and enjoyable lunch. Shortly afterwards, Dad, Jack, and Daisy returned from the Motor Museum and joined us for drinks. I had a Coke Zero, which remained my usual choice.

After lunch, we returned to the hotel for tea and a slice of chocolate cake. I then spent some time browsing through a recipe book I had found. It had been a long time since I had looked through one properly, and I found the experience unexpectedly calming.
Dinner at the hotel
As evening drew in and heavy rain began, we decided that it would be more practical to remain at the hotel for dinner rather than venture out. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and arranged for food to be ordered from a nearby Italian restaurant. I selected a bacon and avocado pizza, which proved to be a warm, comforting, and thoroughly enjoyable meal.

Following dinner, I changed into my pyjamas, took my medication, and settled down for an early night, hoping to feel well rested and prepared for the plans arranged for the following day.
